Laurence JENK was born on 31 December 1965. She lives and works in Vallauris, in the south-east of France.

Famous for her brightly coloured sculptures, she creates giant sweets, in bright colours and various sizes, in materials such as bronze, Plexiglas, aluminium, marble and Murano glass.

More than a medium, the sweet interpreted by Laurence JENK has become a language. Her works are part of a reflection and a cultural process: the Sweet as an object combining simplicity and universality.

In only ten years, her sweets, but also their more or less direct derivatives, the emblematic Wrappings, the DNA, the Robots, the Butterflies... have extended all over the world. Recently she has been extrapolating her “wrapping” and the gesture of twisting to other materials and other forms, such as the «Wrapping Fridge» or the «Jelly Wrap».
